Jazz Diaspora is more than an online multimedia jazz channel. It is the Complete Jazz Experience.

As a universal form of human expression, Jazz ranks among the most influential musical phenomena, having experienced a profound diffusion over the course of its relatively short history. From its turn-of-the-twentieth-century origins in the African American communities of the southern United States, Jazz culture has gained an international presence in virtually every corner of the globe and in the process has interacted with nearly every musical genre. The result has been a Diaspora of art forms involving everything from local culture to fusion with rock, hip hop, and other movements in global pop culture. Jazz represents the bridge between the individual and the collective, between localization and globalization. The growing number of Jazz Festivals throughout the world is a testament to the magnificence of Jazz culture. It is in that spirit that Jazz Diaspora celebrates the rich legacy of this monumental human achievement.
